Though finding interesting activities every day of the week is almost impossible, as it takes time to prepare. I think it's important to learn to have an engaging style...just be an actor. Some people are born with it, but some of us need to learn it. It's possible for sure.

Re: 25 classroom management strategies to get silence from a noisy group of students

The one strategy that I have used with my pre k students and now with my middle school students is just to start counting super slow in a loud voice with my fingers up in the air.... At the beginning of the year I usually count up to 3 now I only count to 1...I guess they think they will explode if I reach 2 so as soon as they hear me counting they all stop what they are doing....

Re: Free Report:

Hi.
Thanks for letting us know. When a reader comes to a challenging word, in read alouds, the rest of the group cannot tell the reader the word, however, they can give clues. The kids love being the teacher, the reader feels pride with being able to pronounce the word on their own, and I not only see what strategies they are using, but learn a few interesting ones myself. While it raises the humor factor and lowers stress, This also reduces blurting out, establishes teamwork, and greatly raises productivity.

Re: 8 Novel Ways to Create A Positive Classroom Environment

Great ideas, thanks Rob.
Can I ask though, with the compliment chain is it advisable to remove links if basd behaviour is observed or is that too negative? What's others trhoughts on this? Mine, is that this would help the class take ownership of their behaviour.

Re: Stepping Stones to Positive Relationships (Part1)

at the risk of repetition I would like to see how you build positive relationships

Re: 8 Novel Ways to Create A Positive Classroom Environment

Some very good ideas here. Your new baby is beautiful!
You contacted me about a classroom management video. You wanted me to place a link on it and work together. Would love to do that. Something is going on with the YouTube email inbox. I've gotten three requests with the same info in them. I've responded to all three. Not sure what is happening. Can you email me directly? dduncan158@gmail.com
Thanks!
